Dr. Vissarion Papadopoulos is a Professor at the School of Civil Engineering, NTUA since 2019. He holds a diploma in Civil Engineering from NTUA (1991), an MSc in Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics, Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine (1993) and a PhD in Computational Mechanics, NTUA (1998). He has also conducted postdoctoral research at Columbia University New York (2002-2005) in the area of computational stochastic mechanics. Prior to his arrival at NTUA he served as a Lecturer (2001-2003), and then as an Assistant Professor (2004) at the University of Thessaly (PD407), at the departments of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. His main research focuses on Computational Mechanics, Stochastic Analysis and Machine Learning and has received funding from National and European sources. He has more than 65 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals (scholar citations >2500, h-index 29) and has supervised to completion 6 PhD theses.
